FAQ

  • What can I expect from a session?

Think of it as a conversation, not a lecture. We’ll chat about your goals, challenges, history, preferences, and lifestyle, and then work together to build a plan that makes sense for you. You’ll leave with clear next steps, not a list of food rules.

  • How long is a typical session?

It’s up to you! I typically book everything for an hour, but if we need more or less time that is okay - we can adjust as necessary.

  • Are virtual sessions an option?

Yes! I see clients both in person in Airdrie, AB and virtually for those who prefer the convenience of online sessions.

  • Are you going to give me a meal plan?

Nope—and here’s why: strict plans usually don’t last. Instead, I’ll help you come up with flexible strategies, meal ideas, and tools that work with your preferences, family, and schedule. That way, you can enjoy food and feel confident about your choices.

  • Will I have to count calories?

Absolutely not! Unless it’s something you really want to do, I don’t encourage calorie counting. For most people, tracking every bite can feel stressful and unsustainable. Instead, we’ll focus on big-picture habits—like meal balance, food choices, and listening to your body—so you can feel confident about what you eat without pulling out a calculator at every meal.

  • Can I use my insurance?

Coverage for dietitian services depends on your insurance plan. Many extended health benefits include Registered Dietitian services—check with your provider to see what’s covered.

  • Will I have to cut out my favourite foods?

Definitely not! Your favorite foods still get to be part of the picture. I don’t believe in banning foods or making long “do not eat” lists—it usually just makes you want them more. Instead, we’ll find a way to enjoy those foods while still supporting your health and goals. Because let’s be honest—life’s too short to never have pizza, chocolate, or whatever your go-to treat is.

  • Will I have to stop going out to eat?

Not at all. Eating out is part of real life—whether it’s grabbing lunch on the go or celebrating with friends. We’ll chat about strategies that help you feel confident ordering what you love while keeping your goals in mind.
